I’m a creature of habit and routines. My mornings are like watching Jim Carrey in The Truman Show, doing the same thing every day. I get up, have oatmeal, hot tea, and read on my iPad. I do not talk (as my family well knows) until I am “coherent” which is normally a few minutes after I’ve finished breakfast.
I also have some weekend routines that involve TV shows. I was eleven when Beverly Hills, 90210 premiered on Fox. The show ran the decade from 1990 until 2000. I grew up surrounded by Kelly, Brenda, Adriana, Donna, Brandon, Steve, and David. I crushed big on Kelly played by Jenny Garth. I did not go to a “normal” high school or college so it was nice to see the characters navigate both high school and college. I also did not have a Peach Pit to hang out in! It also would have been nice driving around Beverly Hills in a sports car instead of the southeast in a Ford Taurus!
Watching at least one episode of Beverly Hills, 90210 has been part of my weekend routine for as long as I can remember. It doesn’t matter how many times I have seen the show, it still brings me joy.
Are there any weekend routines you have? Some people use the weekend to catch up on stuff they could not get to during the busy work week. Some take time for recreation on the beach, lakes, or mountains. Others just veg out and watch a TV show or movie. Let me know in the comments. I would love to hear what your weekend routine is.
